Shocking Discovery in London: Abandoned Monkey Found in Laundry Bag

In northwest London, a marmoset monkey was rescued from a municipal bus after being abandoned in a laundry bag. The animal welfare organization RSPCA is concerned that this incident may be one of the first abandonment cases following new licensing requirements for primate ownership in England. The RSPCA team reported that the monkey was locked in a small metal birdcage and wrapped in a chequered plastic laundry bag. The cage contained only a piece of apple, and the animal was dehydrated and experiencing extreme stress. The rescued marmoset monkey was named 'Oyster', inspired by London's public transportation card. After a veterinary check, Oyster's health was found to be good, and it was transferred to a shelter where it will live with a male marmoset.
