The Reasoned Decision in the Leyla Aydemir Case Has Been Announced

The reasoned decision in the case of Leyla Aydemir, a 3-year-old girl who disappeared in 2018 and was found dead 18 days later in Ağrı, has been announced.
The Ağrı 1st Heavy Penal Court announced the reasoned decision for the aggravated life sentence given to Yusuf Aydemir, the uncle of Leyla Aydemir, for the crime of 'intentional killing of a child'.
The decision states that Leyla, who disappeared on June 15, 2018, during a visit to Bezirhane village with her family, was found dead 18 days later among trees by the riverbank. The court, evaluating the evidence, witness statements, expert reports, and defendant's defenses together, concluded that Leyla did not disappear, but was held against her will for a period of time and then left in a location where she would likely be found after being killed.
