Lavrov Speaks on Maritime Trade Security in the Black Sea

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made statements regarding Turkey's initiative to ensure maritime security in the Black Sea. Lavrov noted that the Turkish side seeks an agreement to prevent the targeting of maritime trade, but emphasized that Russia did not initiate the attacks. Recalling the attacks by Ukrainian forces, Lavrov stated that these attacks threaten maritime trade security in the Black Sea.He pointed out that the presence of economic projects between Russia and Turkey, as well as their shared history, forms the basis of good relations between the two countries. It is known that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan proposed to the parties involved in the crisis in Ukraine to cease attacks in the Black Sea.
