Lavrov: Kiev Tries to Involve Belarus in Ukraine Conflict

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on the attack by the Ukrainian army on a bus carrying a Belarusian children's football team in Russia's Bryansk region. Lavrov stressed that Kiev is trying to involve Minsk in the Ukrainian conflict. At a roundtable meeting with ambassadors in Moscow on a solution in Ukraine, Lavrov said, "It is obvious that this attack aims to expand the geography of armed activities, thereby making it more difficult to resolve the conflict through political and diplomatic means."Last week, the Ukrainian army attacked a bus carrying a Belarusian children's football team in Russia's Bryansk region with a drone. In the attack, one woman was killed and eight people, including six children, were injured. Lavrov, commenting on possible Ukraine talks from Kiev and European politicians, said that Vladimir Zelenskiy put forward rough and unrealistic conditions for negotiations, saying "Führer, he is a Führer."Lavrov stated that the US seems to be abandoning its claims of being an 'objective mediator' in the Ukraine conflict and is increasing pressure on Russia. The Russian Foreign Minister expressed that Washington has forgotten its own statements that a long-term peace, not a ceasefire for several years, is necessary in Ukraine.
