Lavrov Holds Phone Call with Arakchi and Offers Condolences

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Arakchi, to offer condolences over the death of an Iranian sailor in a Ukrainian drone attack.The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Lavrov expressed his heartfelt condolences to Arakchi over the death of the Iranian sailor in the attack on the Iranian cargo ship Ana on July 25. The minister also wished a speedy recovery to the injured sailor.During the call, Arakchi reportedly briefed Lavrov on diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East following the US attack on Iran. The Iranian Foreign Ministry had previously announced that a Ukrainian military attack on an Iranian trade ship had resulted in the death of one sailor and the injury of another.
