Ukrainian Accused of Sabotaging Nord Stream Pipeline Admits Working for SBU

A Ukrainian national, Sergey Kuznetsov, accused of sabotaging the Nord Stream gas pipeline in Germany, has admitted to working for the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) at the time of the incident.
Kuznetsov stated that he was serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and also working for Ukrainian intelligence during the time the crime was committed. However, the Federal Prosecutor's Office noted that they currently only have indirect evidence against the suspect.
The Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, which transport natural gas from Russia to Europe, experienced explosions on September 26, 2022.
Following the incident, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden announced that they could not rule out the possibility of a deliberate sabotage act.
