She Swallowed a 13-Centimeter Toothbrush While Trying to Vomit

A 21-year-old woman in Istanbul swallowed a 13-centimeter toothbrush while trying to vomit to lose weight. After eating and feeling unwell, the young woman was taken to Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Education and Research Hospital by her relatives. Following the initial intervention in the emergency department, the patient was referred to the endoscopy department. A team led by General Surgery Specialist Dr. Kubilay Özgür Öztütüncü performed a 40-minute minor surgery to successfully remove the 13-centimeter toothbrush from the patient's stomach. The patient was discharged two days after treatment and her health condition was reported to be good.
