Interim Decision in Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı Murder Case: Opinion to be Announced on October 7
The trial of Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı's murder case has been postponed to October 7, while the detention of defendants Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu and Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu continues.In March, a armed attack was carried out on a car in Istanbul's Ümraniye district, resulting in the death of young footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı. The trial, which began at the Anatolian 27th Heavy Penal Court, is ongoing.At the hearing, the father, Cemil Kundakçı, reacted to the defendants, saying 'I haven't slept for 3 months since my son died. Kubilay was a young man who could have been beneficial to our country, he was killed. My son was killed because of a love affair.'

I had a 1.5-year relationship with Canbay. I wanted to break up and he accepted. We started seeing each other with Alaattin 1-2 weeks after the breakup.

Witness Vahap Canbay testified at the hearing, stating:

There was an open-ended conversation about separation. Kubilay stayed with me that night, Kubilay said 'Let's go, we'll make up', Kubilay and Yalçın were going to go anyway.

Defendant İzzet Yıldızhan, who attended the hearing via SEGBİS, made the following statements in his defense:

I was in Ankara on the day of the incident. Metin called me around 11:00-12:00 and asked about Bilal. I said 'Don't you know?' and they said 'He's abroad, we know but we can't reach him, Alaattin got into a fight.'

The court announced that the opinion will be announced on October 7.
