US Embargo Blamed for Widespread Power Outages in Cuba

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez emphasized that the extensive power outages across the country are a direct result of the US embargo. Rodriguez stated in his address:

The power outages across the country are a direct result of the US blockade, which we consider to be genocidal in nature, particularly in the energy sector. The US embargo not only hinders the free importation of fuel but also prevents the entry of necessary spare parts and equipment for the National Electric System (SEN). Furthermore, it complicates cooperation with experts from other countries and restricts access to international financing.

The total shutdown of Cuba's National Electric System led to power outages throughout the island.This situation is just one consequence of the US embargo, which has imposed significant hardships on the Cuban economy.
