Cuban Foreign Minister Parrilla Criticizes US Embargo

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla described the US economic embargo on his country as a 'war action'. Parrilla stated in a meeting at the UN General Assembly Hall that US policy is 'silently suffocating and killing' the Cuban people.In his speech, Parrilla emphasized that the US embargo has significant humanitarian impacts in Cuba. He noted that infant mortality rates have increased and cancer deaths are on the rise. 'The US embargo is silently suffocating and killing,' Parrilla said, adding that the economic impact of the embargo totals $178.7 billion.

The US government is a government that is complicit in the genocide in Gaza, the repression of teachers and students protesting in universities.

Parrilla addressed UN member states, asking, 'Is this the new world order we are heading towards?' and stated that the struggle will continue.
