Kremlin's Criticism of the West: 'They Are Trying to Make Us Forget the Spirit of Anchorage'

Russian Deputy President Yuriy Ushakov criticized the West's global policies and its role in the Ukraine crisis in his statements at the international 'Primakov Readings' forum in Moscow.Ushakov noted that at the G7 Summit, European leaders made intense efforts to undermine the diplomatic progress previously achieved between Moscow and Washington.

The Europeans did their best to make the agreements reached in Anchorage (with the US) be forgotten and to keep the West on the line of 'war until the last Ukrainian'. They tried to suppress the spirit of Anchorage with the taste of Evian – which is not the taste of mineral water.

Ushakov emphasized that Western countries do not hesitate to use any military, economic, or propaganda means to maintain global competition.

Unilateral, illegitimate sanctions, customs duties, and export restrictions are pouring down on us like a bucket. A conscious route is being followed to destroy the international law order, weaken and bury traditional multilateral universal institutions.
