Kremlin Statement on Ukraine: Appointment of New Chief of Staff Will Not Change the Situation on the Front
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the appointment of Mikhail Drapatay as the new Chief of Staff in Ukraine, replacing Alexander Syrsky, will not change the situation on the front. Commenting on Vladimir Zelensky's decision to change the top military leadership, Peskov said, "This appointment will not lead to changes on the front. The Kiev regime is shaken, and this is visible to the naked eye." Emphasizing that a responsible decision by Kiev is sufficient to stop the clashes and move on to serious negotiations, Peskov noted that the conditions announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin two years ago for the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine are still valid and well-known to Kiev. Speaking about the sanctions against Russia, Peskov said that just like madness has no limits, sanctions also have no limits for Europeans. "So far, sanctions have indirectly hit Europe, causing billions of dollars in damage," Peskov continued, stating that now Europeans have nothing left but restrictions that directly harm the interests of EU countries.
