Kosovo's Dairy Crisis: Farmers Pour Hundreds of Liters of Milk in Front of Ministry

In Kosovo, dairy farmers staged a protest in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Development, pouring hundreds of liters of milk. Following a comprehensive inspection by the Kosovo Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV) at one of the country's largest dairy factories on July 2, the factory suspended its production for 7 days. The AUV also announced that it would halt milk purchases from dairy farmers during this period. Dissatisfied with the developments, dairy farmers gathered in front of the ministry, demanding the disclosure of the inspection results and the resumption of the factory's production. They also called for an immediate halt to milk imports from neighboring countries, which they claim are being sold below market prices. After the protest, a meeting was held between the dairy farmers and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Development, Armend Muja.
