New Era for Contact Lens Sales: Now Available Online

A significant development has taken place regarding contact lenses used by millions of people. Accordingly, prescription contact lenses can now be sold online under certain conditions. The amendment to the regulation published in the Official Gazette has made it possible to sell prescription contact lenses on the internet. These sales will be made only through the websites of optician establishments authorized by the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK) with a prescription. Sales transactions will, of course, be made in exchange for a prescription. TİTCK may delegate its authorization authority to the directorate. This regulation came into effect as of July 3, 2026.
