Kızılay AVM, located in one of Ankara's most important squares, is undergoing significant changes. Various speculations about the AVM had been circulating on social media, and now the management has announced a comprehensive renovation. As part of the renovation, the shops within the AVM have been emptied, and the large brand signs on the exterior have been removed. Security measures have been taken around the AVM for construction work. According to the statement from Kızılay AVM management, the renovation is underway, and the AVM is expected to reopen in 2027. The metro exit in front of the AVM has also been closed due to the construction. The history of Kızılay Square dates back to 1979 when the old building was demolished, and a new one was planned but not completed.
