Elderly Man Dies After Eating Cherries

A couple in Tosya, Kastamonu, was hospitalized after eating cherries and becoming ill. Unfortunately, 63-year-old Ahmet Derin passed away. His wife Rahime Derin is still undergoing treatment.Ahmet and Rahime Derin, residents of Karabey village, fell ill after eating cherries on July 1. They were taken to Tosya State Hospital by health teams and later transferred to Kastamonu Education and Research Hospital. Despite receiving treatment in the intensive care unit, Ahmet Derin could not be saved.It is suspected that the couple's illness may have been caused by pesticides applied to the area where the cherry tree is located 15 days ago. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
