Tick-Borne Menace: Elderly Man Dies After Removing Tick Himself

A 61-year-old man from Tokat, Turkey, has died after removing a tick from his body himself. Dursun Allamış, who lived in the Sulusaray district of Tokat, had removed the tick using his own methods but fell ill four days later.Alışman was taken to the Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Research and Practice Hospital after he became unwell. Despite all efforts, he passed away in the evening.The hospital is currently treating four patients who have been diagnosed with Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), also known as KKKA in Turkish. These patients had become ill at different times after being bitten by ticks and were admitted to the hospital's Infectious Diseases Department. The patients' overall health is reported to be improving.
