Kushner and Witkoff in Qatar but Will Not Meet Iranian Officials

According to the Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson, US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are in Doha, the capital of Qatar, but will not meet with Iranian officials directly.The spokesperson stated that the two envoys will meet with mediators and discuss the progress of the negotiations. Additionally, $6 billion of Iran's frozen assets have not yet been transferred to Tehran.The Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted that the issue of frozen Iranian funds is directly related to the progress of the negotiations between Tehran and Washington.In the Strait of Hormuz, an emergency hotline was used to reduce tension after a reciprocal shooting incident between the US and Iran last week.Meanwhile, an Iranian lawmaker stated that the Strait of Hormuz is "an integral part of Iran's national sovereignty".The Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Ibrahim Azizi, reiterated Tehran's statements on the Strait of Hormuz and called for an end to Israel's occupation of southern Lebanon.
