Public Hospitals' Nuclear Medicine Procurements Under Scrutiny by Competition Authority

The Competition Authority has launched an investigation into the procurements of nuclear medicine services used in public hospitals for cancer diagnosis and treatment. The allegations of 11 companies collaborating to restrict competition will be investigated. The Competition Authority initiated an inquiry to determine whether the rules of competition were violated in the procurement of nuclear medicine services. As part of the investigation, allegations against Mediccheck, Referans Nükleer Tıp, Sintias Moleküler Sağlık, Fefa Nükleer Tıp, Nukleon, Sintias Nükleer Tıp, Bianco, Nukleus, MNT, GAMA, and Moltek companies will be examined. The review will cover a broad range of aspects, including the supply of FDG products used in PET/CT imaging, companies' bids, pricing behavior, and participation in tenders. The Competition Authority will conduct the investigation to ensure that the procurements of nuclear medicine services in public hospitals are carried out in a transparent and fair manner.
