Japan Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 13

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi announced that the death toll from the 7.1 magnitude earthquake on Kyushu Island has risen to 13.Following the earthquake, Prime Minister Takaichi stated that all possible means will be used to enable rescue teams to reach those trapped as soon as possible. Japan's southwestern Kyushu Island was hit by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake, followed by a 6.1 magnitude aftershock.A tsunami warning was issued for the coasts of Ariake Bay and Yatsushiro Bay after the tremors. The Prime Minister reported that as of 08:30 local time, 13 people were confirmed to have lost their lives.
