A 5.8 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan

A 5.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Japan's Oshino region, marking the 40th earthquake in the area in the past month.
Japan is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, one of the world's most seismically active regions. With four major tectonic plates intersecting, the country experiences thousands of earthquakes each year, and about one-fifth of the world's earthquakes with a magnitude of 6 or higher occur in or around Japan.
Japan's earthquake regulations, early warning systems, and disaster preparedness are among the most advanced in the world.
