Brother of Turkish MP Veli Ağbaba Detained in İzmir Municipality Corruption Probe

A significant development has occurred in the large-scale corruption investigation into the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. Two suspects, including Hür Ağbaba, the brother of Turkish MP Veli Ağbaba from the Yeni Parti, were detained in simultaneous operations. The investigation, led by the İzmir Police Department, involved raids in Diyarbakır and Malatya. As a result, Hür Ağbaba and one other suspect were taken into custody. The detainees were taken to the police headquarters for questioning and further proceedings. According to information from the investigation file, it was determined that the suspects had ties to Süleyman Ekinci, the former general manager of Egeşehir, who was previously arrested.
