Italian Deputy Prime Minister Salvini: Europe Cannot Function Without Russian Energy

Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini stated that the sanctions against Russia have not had the desired effect and have instead hit European economies like a 'boomerang'. Speaking at the general assembly of the Association of Italian Entrepreneurs in Russia, Salvini emphasized that Europe cannot abandon Russian energy sources.

Brussels is preparing to adopt the 21st package of sanctions. Why? The previous 20 packages did not yield the result the European Union expected. Russia is not only not surrendering but also regaining its strength.

Salvini described the West's rhetoric on cutting Russian energy imports as 'hypocritical'.

Europe will never be able to do without Russian oil and gas. Even now, the countries of the continent continue to make purchases; France, Spain, Greece, the Netherlands, and others are still buying Russian energy resources.

It was highlighted that Europe cannot function without Russian oil and gas.
