How Istanbul's Rents Changed: Two Districts Made a Difference
The average rent for a 100 square meter apartment in Turkey was announced as 24,179 lira. Istanbul, with an average rent of 40,453 lira, has the highest average rent. In Istanbul, there was an approximate 10% increase in rent prices. The districts of Kadıköy and Beşiktaş had the largest share in this increase. Istanbul Chamber of Real Estate Agents President Nizameddin Aşa stated that there is a stagnation in rental housing in Istanbul and that the advertisement periods are getting longer. Following Istanbul, Muğla, İzmir, Antalya, and Çanakkale are the provinces with the highest rent prices. The increase in rents is causing difficulties in meeting the housing needs, especially in large cities.
