Three Women Arrested for Million-Lira Theft from Homes in Istanbul

Three women who stole millions of lira worth of jewelry, money, and checks from homes in Istanbul's Küçükçekmece, Beylikdüzü, and Bakırköy districts were arrested by the police. The women's criminal records were found to be extensive. Upon examination, one of the women had 238 criminal records, while the other had 40. Approximately 1 million lira worth of jewelry was seized from the women.The Istanbul Police Department's Directorate of Security, Bureau of Theft and Pickpocketing, conducted an investigation into the thefts. Following fieldwork and technical surveillance, the identities of the suspects were determined. The suspects were caught in a taxi on the Avcılar Haramidere connection road after their last theft on July 1.It was discovered that one of the suspects had 238 criminal records and the other had 40, in addition to warrants for their arrest and prison sentences. A large amount of cash and approximately 1 million lira worth of jewelry were seized from the suspects. The money and jewelry were placed in custody, and the suspects were referred to court after procedures at the police station.
