Major Operation in Istanbul: 37 Suspects Detained in Organized Crime Crackdown

A major operation was carried out in Istanbul against an organized crime syndicate, resulting in the detention of 37 suspects, including customs officials, lawyers, and police officers.The Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Unit, in coordination with the Intelligence Bureau and the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, conducted an investigation into the organized armed crime syndicate led by an individual believed to be abroad.During the investigation, digital materials belonging to two previously arrested suspects were analyzed, revealing incriminating messages. The findings led to a deeper investigation to apprehend suspects linked to the organization.The ongoing investigation involved the evaluation of HTS records, MASAK reports, log records, and other evidence, which identified suspects connected to the crime syndicate. Simultaneous operations were conducted at addresses in Istanbul, resulting in the detention of 37 suspects, including customs officers, clerks, probation officers, lawyers, and police officers.
