Large-scale fuel smuggling operation in Istanbul and other provinces: 7 detained

A simultaneous operation in Istanbul, Afyonkarahisar, and Hatay resulted in the seizure of 116,500 liters of smuggled fuel and the detention of 7 suspects. The operation was conducted by the Istanbul Police Department's Smuggling and Organized Crime Unit in coordination with the Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. As part of the investigation, 7 individuals were detained on suspicion of causing tax losses to the state and gaining unfair profits. Searches at the addresses yielded 10,000 liters of mixed smuggled fuel, valued at approximately 700,000 lira. The total value of the seized fuel and products is estimated to be around 7 million 165,000 lira.
