The Israeli parliamentary elections will take place on October 27, as stipulated by law. This marks the first time since 1988 that elections will be held after a full four-year legislative term.Ofir Katz, Chairman of the Knesset's Internal Affairs Committee and Likud MK, announced on Sunday that the parliament's current four-year term will end on July 17 and that the general elections will be held on October 27 as stipulated by law. Katz stated that the date for the upcoming general elections has been officially set for October 27 and that the elections will not be brought forward.The Israeli media reported that with the Israeli government completing its term on July 17, the elections will be held on time for the first time since 1988. Sagit Afik, the Israeli Parliament's legal advisor, indicated during the session that the Knesset will complete its term and will be dissolved according to the scheduled timeline.During the government's term, Israel has seen increasing political instability and social polarization, with mass protests against the controversial judicial reform and widespread demonstrations calling for the release of Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip.
