Israel-Lebanon Deal: Netanyahu Stresses Withdrawal Conditional on Hezbollah's Disarmament

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made significant statements following the agreement with Lebanon. According to the agreement, Israel will establish two pilot zones to be transferred to the Lebanese army. Netanyahu stated in a video message that the Israeli army will remain in southern Lebanon until Hezbollah is disarmed.

The most critical point is that Israel will continue to stay in the security zone in southern Lebanon. This is a significant achievement. We will maintain our presence here as long as Hezbollah is not disarmed and poses a threat to Israel.

As part of the agreement, preparations will begin for the Lebanese army to take control of the region. It was announced that, based on the recommendation of the Israeli army, two pilot zones will be handed over to the Lebanese army. The first pilot zone is located south of the Litani River, and the second pilot zone is located north of the Litani River. It was noted that a small part of the second pilot zone was occupied by the Israeli army over the past two weeks, but military officials have assessed that this area is no longer needed.
