Israel Withdraws from Part of South Lebanon

A US State Department official announced that Israel has withdrawn from part of the territory it occupied in South Lebanon during its war with Hezbollah. The Lebanese armed forces are expected to take over the area. Israel's withdrawal is seen as a significant gesture of goodwill towards the legitimate government of Lebanon. However, there has been no official statement from Israel yet. Lebanon and Israel are engaged in talks in Washington under US mediation.

The Lebanese Armed Forces should now take action and verifiably clear Hezbollah's arms and infrastructure. This model will be replicated across South Lebanon, allowing for the safe return of displaced families, the reconstruction of the south, and the reestablishment of Lebanon's full sovereignty.
