Spanish Government Reacts to Prime Minister's Wife Being Barred from Traveling to Ankara
The Spanish government has expressed surprise at the rejection of the request for Begona Gomez, the wife of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, to travel to Ankara for the NATO Summit.According to the Spanish news agency EFE, the government views the decision not to allow Gomez to travel to Ankara, while permitting her to travel to London, as 'incomprehensible'.Sources from the Prime Minister's office stated that government officials see this situation as 'proof of the judge's cruelty, obsession, and disproportionate actions in this case'.The court made its decision on July 6 regarding Gomez's request to travel abroad from July 7-10 to attend the NATO Ankara Summit and her daughter's graduation ceremony in London.
