Iran to Ukraine: You Must Compensate for the Damage

The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that Ukraine's explanation for the attack on an Iranian trade ship in the Caspian Sea as 'accidental' was unconvincing. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Bekayi made statements on the matter. Bekayi said, “Ukraine's statement that the attack was unintentional did not convince us.” Iran's demand is for Ukraine to compensate for the damages. Otherwise, Iran will compensate for the damage itself. The Iranian Foreign Ministry had previously announced that one person was killed and one injured in the attack.
