Magnitude 5 Earthquake Strikes Iran's Khuzestan Province
A magnitude 5 earthquake hit the Salend district near the city of Khuzestan in Iran. The earthquake was recorded at 05.55 local time and was also felt in the cities of Ahvaz, Andimeshk, and Dezful. According to the Iranian National Seismological Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Salend district and occurred at a depth of 8 kilometers.Following the earthquake, damage assessment efforts were initiated, and Red Crescent teams were dispatched to the region. As of now, no information has been shared regarding casualties or damage from the earthquake, while Red Crescent teams have been sent to the area to assess potential damage.
