Funeral Held for Iran's Former Leader in Tehran

A funeral was held for Iran's former leader Ayetullah Ali Hamaney in Tehran.The ceremony, which took place at the Imam Khomeini Musalla Mosque in Tehran, was attended by tens of thousands of people.Hamaney lost his life in an attack launched by the US and Israel on February 28. Iranian flags were carried during the ceremony, and the funeral prayer was led by Ayetullah Cafer Sobhani.The funeral was attended by Iranian President Mesud Pezeşkiyan, as well as military and political officials and clergy. A farewell ceremony will be held in the capital's streets tomorrow, after which Hamaney's body will be taken to the city of Qom.
