Tens of Thousands Bid Farewell to Iran's Former Leader Ali Hamaney

A farewell ceremony for Iran's former leader Ali Hamaney, who lost his life in a US and Israeli attack on February 28, was held in Tehran with the participation of tens of thousands of people.The crowd that gathered at the Imam Khomeini Musalla Mosque in Tehran chanted anti-US and anti-Israel slogans during the ceremony, which was announced to be followed by a funeral prayer tomorrow at the same mosque.The ceremony, which started at 06.00 local time, was attended by tens of thousands of people who filled the ceremony area. The crowd became emotional as Hamaney's coffin was seen, and they prayed with tears in their eyes.Iranians filled the ceremony area with 'Ya Hussein' slogans, lamentations, and chest-beating mourning rituals. During the ceremony, a recitation of the Koran was performed, and some participants from different regions of the country wore their traditional local costumes.The farewell program, with intense security measures in place, is expected to continue until 20.00 local time. Food and drink stands were set up on all roads leading to the ceremony, providing free refreshments.Iranian authorities announced that the funeral prayer for Ali Hamaney would be held tomorrow at the Imam Khomeini Musalla Mosque in Tehran.
