Iran's Conditions for Negotiations with the US

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Bekayi stated that negotiations with the US can resume if Iran's national interests are respected. Bekayi emphasized that diplomacy is one of the key tools for protecting Iran's interests. Iran protects its interests through defense mechanisms in some cases and through diplomacy in others. Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Bekayi stated that Iran will not compromise on its sovereignty over the strait . Bekayi also commented on the agreement signed between Iran and the US, stating that the terms of the agreement are not open to interpretation. He reminded that if the US fails to fulfill its commitments, Iran will also not fulfill its obligations.
