US to Impose Maritime Blockade on Iran

According to a statement by the Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC), the US will impose a maritime blockade on Iran starting July 14, 2026, at 23:00 (TSİ). The blockade will cover all of Iran's ports, oil terminals, and coastal areas.

As of July 14, 2026, at 20:00 GMT, US Central Command will begin implementing a maritime blockade of all Iranian ports and coastal areas. The blockade will not impede neutral transit to or from destinations outside of Iran via the Strait of Hormuz

The JMIC statement also noted that humanitarian aid shipments will be permitted but will be subject to inspection.
