Iran and Oman Agree on Secure Route in the Strait of Hormuz

Iran and Oman have reached an agreement on creating a secure traffic route in the Strait of Hormuz to ensure safe passage for commercial ships.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that the two countries have made progress in their technical and political negotiations.
The parties had begun talks to determine safe passage routes for ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
Khatibzadeh noted that if third parties do not hinder the process, the joint statement containing the basic principles agreed upon by the two countries is also in its final review and draft stage.
