Iran and US to Begin Technical Talks Amid Tensions

Iran and the US appear to have decided to halt their reciprocal attacks in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz. The two countries have agreed to start technical talks this week. According to US-based news outlets, Washington and Tehran have agreed to stop their mutual attacks and hold talks in Qatar on June 30 to resolve their differences over the Strait of Hormuz. It is reported that both sides will temporarily cease their attacks and continue the technical talks that began in Switzerland last week.Iran's Revolutionary Leader's Works Preservation and Publication Office member Mehdi Fezaili announced on state television that Iran would not participate in the technical talks with the US scheduled for today. Fezaili cited the US's continued attacks on Iran and the lack of concrete steps towards releasing frozen assets as the reasons for this decision.
