US Revises Number of Military Fatalities in Iran War
The US Department of Defense has updated the number of US military personnel killed in the war that began with US and Israeli attacks on Iran. The number of US military fatalities has been revised from 18 to 14. Different explanations were given by military officials and the Pentagon for this update. Military officials claimed that four soldiers were removed from the official list of war casualties because they died after US President Donald Trump declared a ceasefire. However, Pentagon Press Secretary Joel Valdez stated that the change was due to a temporary data glitch on the website and that the issue would be resolved shortly.US President Donald Trump had stated on July 21 that 18 US military personnel had been killed in the war. This announcement was followed by an update on the number of military personnel killed in the conflict.
