Iranian Parliament Proposes Ban on US and Israeli Ships in the Strait of Hormuz

The Iranian Parliament is working on a bill aimed at banning the passage of US and Israeli ships through the Strait of Hormuz. The proposed law, titled "Strategic measures for the security and sustainable development of the Strait of Hormuz", is currently being reviewed by the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission. Ali Riza Selimi, a member of the Iranian Parliament's Presidium, commented on the bill. This legislation is part of Iran's efforts to ensure its maritime traffic and environmental security. The bill also prohibits the transit of any cargo linked to Israel, whether civilian or military.No cargo linked to Israel, whether civilian or military, will be allowed to pass through the strait. The text also states that "ships and cargo of countries participating in military operations against the Islamic resistance front will also be subject to this ban". Ships violating the ban may face fines of up to 20% of the total value of the cargo they carry.
