Iran Condemns Israel's Attacks on Lebanon and Criticizes the UN Security Council

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Bekayi strongly condemned Israel's attacks on various regions of Lebanon. Bekayi criticized the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for its 'silence and inaction' in the face of serious violations of international law and international humanitarian law. Bekayi stated that Israel's military attacks on Lebanon and the violations of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity continue. He emphasized that the Lebanese people have the right to use all necessary means to defend their identity and sovereignty against Israeli aggression. The Iranian Spokesman also underscored his country's solidarity with Lebanon's efforts to defend its national sovereignty, independence, and dignity. It was reported that at least 11 people were killed in Israel's airstrikes on southern Lebanon, despite the ceasefire agreement reached on April 17.
