Iranian Foreign Minister Arakchi: I Was Pulled Out of the Debris

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi stated that he was pulled out of the debris during the joint US-Israeli air strikes at the beginning of the war. Arakchi shared this incident in an interview with Iranian journalist Cevad Moğuyi.The attack began while high-ranking Iranian officials were in a meeting. Arakchi informed Ali Asgar Hicazi about the attack and stated that he survived because he was not at the center of the explosion.

The building was shaken by three consecutive explosions within a few seconds. Each explosion was closer than the previous one. The third explosion was almost right next to our building. The section where Hicazi's office was located was directly hit, and the left side of the building was completely destroyed.

Arakchi mentioned that after the attack, the country's administration was disconnected for the first three days, and they tried to find out who had survived.Arakchi stated that Iran had prepared for such a scenario in advance and had plans to close the Strait of Hormuz if the spiritual leader was targeted. He announced that the code name for this plan was 'Code 110'.

We were on the other side of the building. After the explosion, the ceiling, walls, everything collapsed on us. I held Hicazi's hand, and we tried to make our way through the wreckage. We heard cries for help, and water was pouring from the ceiling. Everything was in ruins. Eventually, we managed to get out and saw that different parts of the compound had also been targeted.

Arakchi evaluated that the US administration decided to attack due to Iran's allies in Syria and Lebanon being targeted. He also added that many governments in the region tried to persuade US President Donald Trump to abandon the war.

Iran has the heritage of a civilization that is several thousand years old. With the addition of Shia thought and the belief in martyrdom, a power emerges that is not easily defeatable.

Arakchi explained that they had issued a clear warning to neighboring countries before the war and tried to deepen the differences in interests between the US and Israel.

If Israel targets our nuclear facilities, we will target theirs. Our missiles cannot reach America, but unfortunately, they can reach US bases in your countries. If they target our oil facilities, we will ensure that no one in the region can sell oil.

Arakchi stated, 'We do not go to war unless the cost of not going to war is higher than the cost of going to war.'
