England has witnessed its hottest day of the year, with the temperature rising to 38.1 degrees in Kew Gardens, London. This day marked the country's hottest day so far, and it also became the fifth hottest day in England's history. A fire broke out in the Newbridge area of South Wales, exemplifying the increased risk of wildfires due to hot and dry weather. The fire resulted in six homes being left uninhabitable and the emergency evacuation of 20 people.
