The UK has announced that it will provide $1 billion in credit to Ukraine through the World Bank to support the country's reconstruction and increase its resilience. The funds will be used to ensure the uninterrupted operation of hospitals, schools, and basic public services.
Following the 'Reconstruction of Ukraine' conference held in Gdansk, Poland, a written statement was released on behalf of UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, sharing details of the new financial support for Ukraine. The UK will contribute $1 billion to the $4 billion fund package prepared by the World Bank for Ukraine.
It is stated that the provided resource will be used primarily to enable hospitals, schools, and basic government services across the country to continue their activities. Additionally, it is expected that this financial support will make a significant contribution to the country's goals of attracting private sector investments, supporting economic growth, and creating qualified employment opportunities.
