KRG Prime Minister Barzani: We Want to Stay Out of Regional Conflicts

Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani stated that they want to stay out of regional conflicts. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Barzani said, "No side has pressured us to join the war, and we do not want to be a part of any conflict in the region." The KRG Prime Minister emphasized that regional issues should be resolved through dialogue and peaceful means. Barzani also stated that weapons should only be under the control of official security forces, supporting the Iraqi government's stance on the issue. Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi had promised in May that the state would have a monopoly on weapons use.
