Ministry of Interior Responds to Haluk Levent's Allegations

Deputy Minister of Interior Bülent Turan responded to the claims of Haluk Levent, who was taken into custody as part of the AHBAP Association investigation, that he had been calling for inspection for 15 days.Turan made a statement regarding Levent's allegations. The statement provided information about the inspection processes of associations.

About 103,000 associations in our country are audited by our Ministry's General Directorate of Relations with the Civil Society, in accordance with Law No. 5253 on Associations, by both Governors' Inspectors and Association Auditors. These audits are not carried out on the basis of arbitrary messages or requests, but in accordance with the administration's risk assessment, requests or complaints from judicial/administrative authorities, and the findings are shared with the relevant institutions, including the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices.
