New Development in the Investigation of the Abduction of İBB Culture AŞ Deputy General Manager Karaal

A new development has occurred in the investigation into the abduction and assault of İBB Culture AŞ Deputy General Manager Erhan Karaal. A GPS tracking device was found in Karaal's vehicle during an inspection. As part of the investigation led by the Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the Istanbul Police Department's Asayiş Şube Müdürlüğü Gasp Büro Amirliği teams conducted an inspection of Karaal's car. The inspection revealed the presence of a GPS tracking device in the vehicle. An investigation has been launched to determine who installed the GPS device and when. The prosecutor's office, which initiated the investigation into Karaal's alleged abduction in Maltepe, had instructed the police to locate the victim and apprehend the suspects. Following the efforts of the teams, Karaal was found in a construction area in Tuzla, and his health was reported to be good. As part of the investigation, 12 suspects were taken into custody, with 6 being arrested and 6 being released under judicial control. In the ongoing investigation, 5 more suspects were detained in a raid on a villa in a forested area in Kocaeli, with 4 of the suspects found to have been involved in the kidnapping organization on the day of the incident. With the detention of 5 more suspects by the Istanbul Police Department's Asayiş Şube Müdürlüğü Gasp Büro Amirliği teams, the number of detainees in the ongoing operations has risen to 10. The suspects were referred to the Anadolu Justice Palace after procedures at the police station.
