Houthi's Strong Reaction: US and Saudi Arabia's Iraq Attack is 'Illegal Interference'
The Houthi movement in Yemen has strongly condemned the joint air operation by the US and Saudi Arabia in Iraq, calling it a serious violation of international law and norms. The Houthis emphasized that this attack clearly infringes upon Iraq's sovereignty and right to self-defense. The movement asserted that the Iraqi government and people have the right to retaliate against this aggression. In their statement, the Houthis pointed out that these attacks on Iraq's sovereignty are a direct infringement on the country's legitimate right to defense. The operation targeted military points, ammunition depots, and logistics centers belonging to the Hashd al-Shaabi in various provinces of Iraq. The joint statement by the US and Saudi Arabia claimed that the operation was carried out in response to over 30 drone attacks from Iraqi territory against Saudi oil facilities and US bases. The Hashd al-Shaabi also condemned the targeting of its official military units, stating that it is a direct violation of Iraq's sovereignty.
