The social media account of Yahya Seri, the military spokesman for the Houthi rebels in Yemen, has been suspended. Users attempting to access Seri's account are met with a warning stating that the account has been suspended. This suspension means the loss of a key channel for the Houthi rebels to announce their military activities. The Houthi rebels have controlled the capital city of Sana and parts of Yemen since 2014. Despite periodic clashes between the government forces and the Houthi rebels, a relatively calm period has been experienced since the ceasefire in April 2022.
